Goethe Exam Fees in India: How They Work
Goethe-Institut sets exam fees by exam and centre. On the India exam pages, each exam has a booking section that shows the fee in rupees and marks it as including 18% GST. When we checked, the amounts and dates did not load on the pages, and some pages said no dates were currently available.
- Find the fee only on the official page. Open the exam page for your level on the Goethe India website and look at the booking section for your city.
- Check what the price includes. The page says the displayed price includes GST. Ask whether the exam fee covers only the exam or also preparation material.
- Compare with partner centres separately. Partner exam centres have their own contact points, so confirm their fee and certificate rules directly.
- Be wary of price differences. If an agent quotes a price that does not match the official booking page, ask them to show you the official booking.
For cancellations and country-specific rules, Goethe refers to its terms (a PDF titled “Additions to the GTC”) shown during booking, so read them before you pay.
