    Why Russia

A medical degree without the private-college price tag

Russia has trained international medical students for decades. For Indian students who clear NEET but miss a government seat, it remains one of the most sensible routes to a medical career.

    Established medical schools

State medical universities with large teaching hospitals, long-running international faculties and thousands of Indian alumni.

    Affordable, transparent costs

Total study and living costs are typically a fraction of an Indian private medical college seat — with fees published per year.

    English-medium teaching

International batches are taught in English, while Russian is taught alongside for hospital and patient interaction.

    Structured 6-year degree

The MD Physician programme runs six years including clinical training, aligning with Indian licensing requirements.

    Rules first

    What the NMC actually requires

Choosing the wrong university can make your degree unusable in India. We only shortlist programmes that fit the Indian regulator’s conditions — and we show you the rules before you pay anyone.

    RequirementWhat it means
NEET-UG qualificationMandatory for any Indian student pursuing a primary medical qualification abroad. Without it, your degree cannot be registered in India.
Course durationThe programme must run the full duration prescribed by the regulator, followed by internship — no shortened or fast-track routes.
Medium of instructionTeaching must be in English throughout the course, as declared by the university.
RecognitionThe university must be licensed to award a degree that permits practice in the country where it is located.
Licensing exam in IndiaReturning graduates must clear the Indian licensing examination (FMGE, transitioning to NExT) before practising in India.
DocumentsClass 10 and 12 marksheets, NEET scorecard, passport, medical fitness and police clearance.

We share the current shortlist of compliant universities, seat availability and full fee breakdown during counselling — in writing.

    FMGE / NExT preparation

Guidance and preparation support through the course so licensing is not a last-minute panic.

    Language matters

Why Russian decides how good your clinical years are

Lectures may be in English, but patients are not. Students who learn Russian early take better histories, get more hands-on time and score better in clinical assessments.

    Patient communication

History taking, symptoms, consent and everyday hospital conversation.

    Ward confidence

Understand instructions from consultants and nursing staff without a translator.

    Daily life abroad

Rent, transport, shopping and administration become simple instead of stressful.

Lectures in English. Wards in Russian.

Your first years are lecture-led and taught in English. From the clinical years onward you are with real patients every week — and that part happens in Russian.

    FAQ

MBBS in Russia — honest answers

Is NEET compulsory for MBBS in Russia?

Yes. Indian students must qualify NEET-UG to study a primary medical qualification abroad and to be eligible for Indian licensing afterwards. Any consultant who says otherwise is not protecting your future.

    How long is the course?

The MD Physician programme runs six years, including clinical training. You then complete the licensing requirements for the country where you intend to practise.

Are classes in English or Russian?

International batches are taught in English. Russian is taught alongside because clinical postings involve real patients, which is why we start your Russian training before you leave India.

Can I practise in India afterwards?

Yes, after clearing the Indian licensing examination (FMGE, moving to NExT) and completing the internship requirements set by the regulator. We build preparation into your plan from year one.

What does it cost in total?

Tuition varies by university and city, and hostel and living costs vary too. We give you a written, itemised estimate for each shortlisted university — with no hidden agent charges.

Is it safe for Indian students?

Universities hosting international students have established hostels, Indian student communities and mess facilities. We also brief parents directly and stay reachable through the course.
